Forest school is particularly useful for those who struggle in the conventional learning arena and the neutral territory of the woodland often plays a key . Activities are limitless but favourite’s include shelter building, survival and bushcraft skills, games, woodcraft, handcraft and environmental art.
The activities encourage working with others, personal learning and thinking skills, communication and problem solving.
The first hand experiences of learning outside the classroom can help to make subjects more vivid and interesting for pupils and enhance their understanding. Outside learning can contribute significantly to pupils personal, social and emotional development.
